How to control the mosquitoes in your yard for two years for $15-and protect Nature in the process
If you spray your yard or have a mosquito control service, you’re spending a fortune to perpetuate an addiction. Every time you spray you’re killing or starving out all the beneficial critters that eat mosquitoes. The more often you do that, the more often the poisoners need to come, and the more you get charged.
Here’s a technique that I’ve tried, and it works. You create what are called Mosquito buckets. For about $15 you can buy a bag of a product called Mosquito Bits that will last you a year or two. Fill a bucket or watering can or detergent jug with water, add some mosquito bits and a small clump of grass, leaves or dirt, and the mosquitoes in your yard will be drawn to lay their eggs there. A substance called BTI, produced by otherwise harmless bacteria, kills the mosquito larvae, and allow you to reclaim your backyard. (also sprinkle the mosquito bits in the places in the relevant image in this post.)
The next several pictures will pretty much explain.
