 Birds of Central Texas Gallery
special thanks to Dave Berry, Edison Buenano of Swordbilled Expeditions, Tim Fennel, Galen Stewart,  John Thomlinson, and Steve Wolfe for generously sharing some of their photos

There is a reason why seasoned birders live in Central Texas, where East meets West and Temperate meets Tropical! Where else can you find McCown's Longspurs and Great Kiskadees, the Carolinas (Wrens + Chickadees) and black-backed Lesser Goldfinches and Roadrunners? Within striking range are Prairie Plains (with Sprague's Pipits, Dickcissels and Scissortail Flycatchers) and Hill Country Wildlands (with Golden-Cheeked Warblers, Painted Buntings and Black-capped Vireos). And literally, everything in between! Spring, Winter, and Fall are all great times to visit. Summer? For all but the hardiest birders, time to "keep it weird" exploring Austin culture.
